PIR Occupancy Sensors: What Is The Distance A Sensor Should Be Away From An Air Diffuser?

Passive-Infrared (PIR) Sensors see heat in motion, so assuming the air coming out of the diffuser is hotter or colder than the ambient, the PIR sensor will pick it up.  The major requirement would be that you do not want it so close to the diffuser that air is actually blowing on the sensor housing.  A good rule of thumb is to keep it at least 2-3 feet away.
