nSP5 PCD Series Dimmers: Why Would A nSP5 PCD Pack Cycle My Lights?

The nSP5 PCD phase dimming power packs have internal thermal protection that could cause lights to cycle on/off.  If the thermal protection overheats, the lights will shut off to protect the equipment.  If this is happening, check the following:

  • Check to make sure the load isn't exceeded the specified maximum load on the product data sheet
  • Verify that there is sufficient air flow around the power pack, which allows for the heat sink to adequately dissipate any heat build up.
  • Verify that the space around the power pack is not heating up to 110 degrees F or higher
